Shatavari, Asparagus racemosus, is a climbing plant. Shatawari has different names in the different Indian languages, such as Shatuli, Vrishya and other terms. A member of the same family as the common asparagus, Shatavari has several nutritive properties. Shatavari is known to be very effective in enhancing female fertility and is the best known female rejuvenative. Shatavari is bitter sweet in taste. It is most important herb in Ayurveda. The roots are used in Ayurvedic medicine.
